September Recap: New Packs, New Categories, New Multiplayer Guide
Our second entry in the News & Updates hub, and this one has more to cover than the first. The biggest story this month isn’t a single release — it’s a shift in what kind of content has been showing up on The Choicer Voicer site itself. Here’s the rundown.
This Month at a Glance
| Category | What’s New |
|---|---|
| New Content | A large wave of individual dub and voice packs, built around specific clips rather than unrelated games |
| Site Organization | New category pages for Voice Games and Audio Games, grouping this content together |
| Mic Bug Status | No new developments to report this month — the community workaround is still the way to go |
| Other Additions | A new Multiplayer guide explaining async group recording, plus a tidier “Extras” menu to hold it |
A Big Wave of New Dub and Voice Packs
Where previous months brought a steady trickle of unrelated games onto the site, September pointed the firehose somewhere much more on-topic: dozens of new entries went up built around specific, recognizable clips rather than generic content. The range is wide — scenes and lines pulled from shows and franchises like SpongeBob, Breaking Bad, Adventure Time, Peter Griffin, Death Note, Star Wars, Dragon Ball, One Piece, and more, alongside a handful of classic meme-format dubs.
We haven’t gone through every single one individually yet, but the sheer volume is worth flagging on its own — this is easily the most topically focused stretch of new content the site has added in one month. If you’re browsing for material to build your own pack around, this is a good month to go digging through what’s new rather than relying on the usual compilation packs.
One addition worth calling out specifically: a page on The Choicest Voice, the mic-and-judges minigame from Mario Party: Island Tour. It’s not a new entry in our own series — it’s one of the real predecessors behind the format The Choicer Voicer builds on, running the same “record your take, let a panel of judges decide” structure (itself an extension of the earlier Utter Nonsense minigame) across three full rounds instead of one. Worth a read if you’ve ever wondered where this whole judge-panel idea comes from.
New Categories to Match the New Content
The site’s category structure picked up a couple of new additions this month too — Voice Games and Audio Games joined the existing category list, which lines up with the wave of dub and pack content above. If you’ve been browsing by category rather than searching directly, these are worth checking alongside the existing Choice Games and Imitation Games sections.
The most on-topic stretch of new content the site has added in a single month — dozens of new packs, built around specific clips instead of unrelated games.
A Proper Guide for Multiplayer
The Multiplayer page also went up this month, and it’s a real guide rather than a placeholder — it walks through how group recording actually works in The Choicer Voicer: a scene gets split up, each player gets their own private link with just their lines and the original timing, and nobody has to be online at the same time. Takes come in on each person’s own schedule, and the host reviews everything and assembles the final cut once it’s all in.
It’s a solid answer for anyone who’s tried to coordinate a group dub over a live call and found it awkward — this makes the case for async instead, and gives a few practical pointers (start with a short two- or three-role scene, settle pronunciation before anyone records, keep retake notes specific) that are worth knowing before you try to wrangle a bigger cast.
It’s also tucked into a new “Extras” menu alongside All Guides and this News & Updates hub — a small nav cleanup that’s easy to miss but keeps the header from getting any more crowded.
Mic Bug: No Change This Month
Nothing new to report on the surround-sound recording dropout this month. The workaround in our Mic Fixes guide — routing audio output through a spare device and monitoring it externally — remains the most reliable fix players are using. We’ll flag it here the moment anything changes.
What We’re Keeping an Eye On
- Whether the pace of new dub and voice pack additions holds up into next month, or if this was a one-off push.
- Working through the new wave of packs ourselves to flag which ones are actually worth your time — expect that in a future Voice Packs update.
That’s the recap for September. See you in a few weeks for the next one.
